Recementing a crown or bridge

INSTRUCTIONS FOR TEMPORARY RECEMENTING OF A CROWN OR BRIDGE:

YOU HAVE BEEN PROVIDED WITH A TEMPORARY FILLING MATERIAL CALLED TEMP-BOND.

It is two-paste cement system that can be used to re-cement a dental crown or bridge under instruction from the dentist.

See video:

  1. Please ensure you thoroughly wash your hands before proceeding.
  2. Try the crown or bridge back onto your tooth first to ensure that it still fits. Once sure then remove it again.
  3. You will need to make sure that the tooth you are cementing the crown to and the crown itself are dry. This can be done by drying them with a tissue.
  4. Mix the two pastes together using the stick provided.
  5. Use the mixing stick to paint a very thin layer of the mixed cement inside the crown or bridge.
  6. Place the crown/bridge onto you tooth and bite your teeth together.
  7. Remove any excess cement from around the edges with a clean mixing stick provided.
  8. If your teeth do not feel comfortable when biting together remove the crown or bridge immediately before the cement sets. Remove any paste from your tooth also with a tissue.
  9. The cement will take about five minutes to harden.
